Possible to reduce polygons on Skeletal Mesh?

I have been given a UE4 asset that is a very high polygon, animated creature (non-humanoid).

While I’m not specifically familiar with animation, I am very familiar with 3D programs to create static meshes (3ds Max as my go to) and using Simplygon to reduce poly count.

However - while I can see I can import LODs, I am having little luck with that working. Are there any simple(ish) solutions to reduce the polygons on a UE4 asset that’s already animated, skinned, etc?
