Possible bug in animation graph using 2 state nodes

I think it a bug, but im not sure… the only reason why im posting this is because i spent an age trying to figure out why my character wasn’t changing in transitions when i changed data in rules between 2 state nodes in the anim graph.

you can create more than one connector/rule in between 2 state nodes, im not sure if the editor uses the first created or blends between the two, but i can see no reason to use 2 since you can use 1 big set of nodes in 1 rule connector instead of 2 which you might forget about ?

sorry if this is just me being dumb, but it took me a while to realize this “problem” because the straight line for connecting 2 state nodes overlap (or dont display in anim graph) and i you can only delete one in the “My Blueprint” tab.

also the first few times, when i tried to delete the 1st created connector and only have one connector to give the desired result, it caused a crash, i had to delete both and then remake a “fresh” connector/rule to be able to compile.

sorry if im being dumb here and this is an actual feature.

Hi bennetherwood,

I just wanted to let you know that we are currently looking into your issue and will post back here when we have some suggestions.

Thanks, TJ

I just want to add quickly sorry that the bug was in 4.1, only just re-subbed today so may not be in 4.3 but if you never encountered it before then it may still be there, you can still create 2 rules/ connectors to a single state node, however in 4.3 the connectors no longer overlap instead you get 2 equilibrium signs side by side, so bug may have been sorted.

I found a very similar bug in our system and it was fixed some time back. I attempted to reproduce your issue in 4.3 and I believe you are correct, it seems to be working fine now.

If you come across this issue again, please post back here to let us know.

Thanks, TJ
