Possessing pawns - First Person instead of Third Person

I tried to go through the “How to Possess Pawns” tutorial at Possessing Pawns | Unreal Engine Documentation using First Person instead of Third Person. I used the Simple Character from https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Gameplay/HowTo/SetUpInput/Blueprints/index.html. The “character” didn’t move correctly when using the keys or gamepad to move “him”. “He” appeared to be sticking to the ground. Any suggestions?
