I was trying to follow the tutorial on Entering/Exiting a Vehicle: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Gameplay/HowTo/PossessPawns/Blueprints/index.html , I followed all the instructions , but it seems that some settings is missing. I was unable to enter or exit vehicle. I do get the overlapped message, but I cant figure out whats missing. Did anyone else has tried it ??
Dear RydgeMrPinky,
I tried this. I implemented as described. But due to implementation I think there was a circular dependency introduced by two blue prints accessing each other’s elements: MyCharacter and VehicleBluePrint. See the attached pictures ! You can compile 1 and when you compile other , you can see the 1st is dirty. Although I am not sure this is related , but the player gets in the car only gets hidden. The camera remains in third person mode and the weirdest thing is that if you jump in that mode, player falls through that level, even though the collision is enabled. Try creating a third person and blend it with advanced vehicle project, you will see what I am talking about.
look at your vehicle blueprint, it seems you are missing a link.
follow on component beging overlap->casttomychar->set->(SET) link (Car)->(self). because if you arent setting your pawn then your basically switching to nothing an unset variable if you will. see it all lonely holdin up a (select asset) sign? and compile both scfripts a couple times each back and fourth just for luck ![]()
just a warning idk if you re-size the advanced vehicle and use these scripts you WILL NOT have the advanced vehicle tire animations unless you re-size and transform locations for all the little pieces. tire locations sizes everything if they do not match your tires wont move visually
whats great though as its own size slap a go-cart mesh on the advanced vehicle if your havin troubles with the sizes and transform locations
Could you post your component graphs for the advanced vehicle. also in world settings make sure the character your using is the default character not the advanced vehicle. i hope any of these options have helped
