Hello guys,
I have an issue with the visualization of the Pose search database. The problem is: I did an animation modifier to edit the trajectory of an animation to be able to create from a single forward animation a better coverage for this angles (45/90/135/180). In the first pic, you can see that the PSS is calculating the trajectory well (one is the original, forward and the other is the one i edit to get 45° trajectory) with the pink blue trajectory being drawn. However when i play the animation, the character si still going forward like the original motion(second pic). It looks like the changes never bake into the root motion. However, when i export the fbx inside Blender, I can see that the modified animation is working correctly and the character is going 45° from the original (third pic). Also when i open the modified animation sequence, i can see that the character is going at 45°. It looks like it is only in the viewport of the PSD. Any idea about why the PSD is not displaying the correct animation ?
Hello there @vogan_drama!
While I have yet to encounter such a pose mismatch, I have experienced the relation between UE and Blender regarding animations, it’s not the best.
The first approach would be to reset export/import settings in both UE and Blender, then re-import all assets, checking the poses again.
If the issue persists, then please follow the method detailed here for the transfer. Additionally, you can try with an alternative 3D tool, like Maya, to avoid conflicts.
Hi sir, thanks for the answer.
Well actually I did not use blender for anything except visualized the animation in another software than Unreal. I did not reimport the animation from Blender to Unreal since I modified the animation within Unreal with a custom animation modifier. And actually what makes me feel like this is mostly a bug from the PSD viewport is that even in the animation sequence viewport the modified animation has a rotation of 45° and the translation following this new trajectory (as you can see in the picture). So it looks like i got two visualization that confirm rotation and translation have been modified by 45° (anim sequence viewport and blender scene), even the predicted trajectory compute by the PSS is showing in the PSD a trajectory of 45°, but only the root motion within the viewport of the PSD is not showing that new trajectory when the animation is played. So my guess would be a bug in the PSD, or a configuration that went wrong, but i cant figure it out how to fix it.
