Point clouds imported into UE 5.1 have the wrong colors. They are both inverted and shifted, for example, the yellow in this cloud I imported is inverted and blown out but the white is displayed as white where it should be. Everything also has this blue shift on it. The cloud is a .e57 file that was imported both into 5.1 and 4.27. There is no problems in engine version 4.27.
I’ve submitted it as a bug but does anyone have any suggestions for a fix as I wait? This is a crucial part of my pipeline for a current project at the moment. I’ve made a material and tried to play around with the vertex colors but have had no luck.
I would be able to say how, but, could you do a fragment shader to substract a bleu value to the fragment ?
I am also having the same issue. In my case it’s not a problem, but it could come annoying to have a bleu shifting.
Hi Mumchina,
I believe this is only for .E57 point clouds. (According to this bug report) So I wonder if converting the point cloud to a different format before importing will fix it.
For shifting the colors in the context of point clouds. I think doing it with post-processing would be the best thing to try first. For the rest of this month (Mar 2023) this post-processing pack is free on the Marketplace.
