I have a cable attached to a socket of a physics object but when the object falls the cable just keeps stretching and the physics object falls all the way… I have messed with a number of cable settings and no difference…
i need the answer, too!
For everyone still interested in this - you should use Physics Constraint Actor like shown here.
Years later and I have a work-around if anyone finds this. I have managed to stop the physics constraint stretching of a falling object by momentarily tricking the physics into thinking the object is stationary. The moment you want your constraint to stop the fall you set the falling object to the same location it is at. This stops the physics for a frame and allows the constraint to “reset” and think the object is not moving. This stops the stretching.
