PLEASE make Quixel FAB material export ARM map and make functions align with Bridge Tool

Hi Unreal and FAB teams,

I am writing to request that the map export settings in FAB be aligned with those found in Quixel Bridge. Currently, the two export processes differ significantly, which creates significant workflow friction for our studio.

Specifically, we have noted the following issues with the current FAB implementation:

  • Map Formats: Quixel exports ORD maps by default, whereas our pipeline requires ARM maps. (The reason ARM is better than ORD is that Metatlic is often used across different pipelines and suits for individual assets. It also aligns with the substance export setting. Whereas Displacement is often just an add-on option)

  • Feature Gaps: It lacks essential UV, metalness, and color-adjustment functions.

These discrepancies make it difficult for our distributed teams to maintain consistency, often leading to misaligned assets. Aligning these tools would greatly improve our development efficiency and educational workflows.

I agree honestly the changes are unnecessary and very confusing.
