I publish continuously and make efforts to create maps, but what has been happening to me over the past three months and until now is that my projects do not appear in Discover so that they get a chance to be seen. I think I will stop making this effort and stop developing, which is frustrating. Is there any help you can offer me?
Discovery uses an algorithm that is not made public, we do don’t know the exact triggers and factors epic use to display maps in discovery, all you can do is either pay to be in the sponsored row or hope for some luck.
Epic only pushes islands they think might make them a lot of money.
If you can’t pay for promotion in discover and social media, team up with other independent developers, play and playtest each other’s maps, provide feedback and support each other.
I’m not sure if this is accurate but I heard the algorithm pushes out maps that has significant changes in them or ones with recent updates and more, they track you a lot in UEFN (or that’s what I heard for algorithm reasons) they will reward your map with more change. If that doesn’t happen, im not sure why.
but i maybe recommend making youtube shorts or tiktoks of your map if the discovery isnt doing it. i usually get 1k-30k views making youtube shorts (average 50%-80% stay to watch). if you can, try opting in to have a good hook to have people keep watching your youtube short and show your fortnite map and put your code on the screen. (same for tiktok, they push out videos with better watch completion rate)
