It’s nothing fancy.
A simple character animated for 22 minutes in 3Ds . Implemented with Nvidia Hairworks and exported properly.
A Background scene also modeled in 3Ds populated with dynamic grass - again implemented with hairworks.
I am looking to hire someone to take my Hairworks file and the animated fbx file into Unreal4 (Compiled with Hairworks) and render it at the highest possible settings and send me a HD video for editing. Most importantly I want that person to record it in a video on how he achieves the final look, this is a student project so this would help me understand how someone familiar with the engine actually works with it under a given set of conditions.
So can you guys give me an idea how much this small thing would cost me? This is a student project and budget is very very limited (out of pocket money).
I am here asking for help from guys like yourself who are more experienced than me, this isnt a post where I’d hire someone, this post is made to ask you experts what it would cost to hire someone to do this.
If I go to the market it’s best to know what’s the fair price of something that I’m looking to buy instead of overpaying someone or hustling with someone who’s asking for a fair price.
And I know there are tons of tutorials on Youtube, I even downloaded and compiled hairworks with Ue4 and everything is setup only to find that my computer isnt ‘strong’ enough to pull this through. unfortunately tutorials don’t give your hardware the upgrade it needs
It’s just really hard to tell, I have no clue how much work it is to use hairworks and you need someone who is good at it I guess. 22 minutes of animation are really a lot, so I guess you will have to pay at least a 4 digit number of $ It fully depends on the quality you need. The infiltrator demo from Epic was not more than 20 minutes animation if you add up all of them I guess, but it would surely be quite expensive for you to get such animations.
It depends on the other person -> it can go from some view dollars up to some hundreds -> the easiest way would be to just make it by your own (it’s actually pretty easy)
You just have to import everything + set up a matinee -> ?v=eR0X9Rb08KY https://docs.unrealengine/latest/INT/Engine/Matinee/UI/index.html
