Playback is constantly stopped by buffering video no matter the video quality. This makes watching anything intolerable. I’m not sure if this is an issue with where the videos are hosted, but please fix this, or let me know what I can do to improve it on my end. My download speed is 180 Mbps, so it’s definitely not my connection.
Interesting post. Curious about this topic too. Often wonder, how does anyone learn anything this way?!!! Scrubbing backwards / forwards is just hell (hangs of 30 seconds sometimes or worse - stuck indefinitely). So during playback, is skipping ahead / scrubbing back nearly instantaneous for others? Have seen this on other learning sites too, its just worse maybe.
Often wonder if its related to user Browser-choice. For example playing tutorials on YouTube… Is Google deliberately crippling the user experience for non Google-Chrome users? Google / Microsoft get caught playing these kinds of anti-competitive games all the time so no surprise. The playback performance definitely seems worse on Chromium-based browsers that aren’t Google Chrome anyway. But hey maybe its all just innocent, and video hosting sites are lazy and mostly or only optimizing playback for Google Chrome, because its still so dominant.
Ether way practical experimentation is often worth way more than watching videos anyway.
I’ve tried on Chrome too - no difference
