Player gets stuck along "waterline" (ledge) while walking

Hi all, hopefully there is a simple setting I can just adjust. I have turned off “can walk off ledges” and where the water begins is a geo with no collision and the drop off is 1 meter at a 90 degree angle The walkable geo is the same geo for perpendicular dropoff 90 degrees. Because I turned off “can walk off ledges” my player can standout over the ledge/water so that it looks as though they are more on the water than the land which is fine for the playstyle. However, if the player hugs the ledgeline and their controller points more towards the water than the land direction - they can come to a full stop as if they were pointing fully towards a wall. If I walk along an actual wall however - this does not occur - players don’t get “stuck” like this - there is more of a glancing angle that allows them to continue on the general direction the controller is pushing. Since the collision detection I guess works differently for ledges - there seems to be an annoying “sweet spot” where the math just hits a snag. Any thoughts on where/what to adjust for this?
