Play player animation with matinee

I’m working on an fps game, that would sometimes feature cutscenes in the fp perspective.
The way I want those to work is that the player’s model would have a skeletal animation made in a 3d program. The camera’s animation would be the animation for the head (I have set up a player character from the TPS sample, where the camera is linked to the head bone with a socket, that way, the player can rotate it, but the movements of the head affect the camera, making it a tad more realistic).

Now the problem starts here.
I can’t figure out how to play cutscene animations with the player. In matinee, trying to create a skeletal mesh group with the spawner selected makes the group pop up without the skeletal layer.
So is there any way I could put this animation into matinee?
