Play dynamic force feedback stops working after quite some while

I’ve recently noticed that “Play Dynamic Force Feedback” stops working after spending quite some time in the editor. I couldn’t find out the exact reason behind this issue but here’s a short summary:

  1. Create an actor that calls the “Play Dynamic Force Feedback” function. Make sure the actor updates the intensity in it’s tick. (The actor won’t be destroyed or anything while the force feedback is active)
  2. Playtest a few times and you’ll notice that everything works ans intended
  3. At some point you’ll notice that there’s no vibration after playtesting the level a few times. Even reloading your level or creating a blank level and calling the “Play Dynamic Force Feedback” from the Level Blueprint does not create force feedback and the vibration simply does not work anymore
  4. Restart the editor and it will work again
