pixilation effect, post process material

Hello! I would like an effect over my game to make it look somewhat pixilated.

I read a short article Unreal Engine – Pixelate Post Process Effect by CGHideout
and it didn’t help much because there wasn’t the same nodes n stuff..

these are example of what I would like to happen.. generally at least.

this is what i have so far and it doesn’t seem to be working :stuck_out_tongue:

any help is welcome if u guyz have it!!! thx!!

I see that you are using ViewSize which is a probably a big number. You don’t need that, also it is not what is used in the tutorial aswell.

Here is some working examples free of use and you can find many more.

There is lot’s of different aspects to it when it comes to retro shaders and details however you can start from this one.

Depending on the effects you want to do there could be many approaches, mix of match of new and old tech.

If you want a true ps1 graphics on your whole game, there is some better ways to do it, which will ofcourse improve performance dramatically so you can take advantage of those approaches.

Removing anti alising, lowering render resolution, resolution and sampling for textures, forward shading, lights etc. in project settings overall so boost your performance while achieving a better retro look. Here is a video tutorial to those aspects of the rendering.
