We are using PixelStreaming2 plugin and UnrealEngine 5.5.0
Sometimes when users connect to our stream, they have great bitrate and low latency. Other times, the stream is very degraded, low bitrate, and high latency. This doesn’t seem effected by browser or hardware, as we’ve tested it across multiple browsers eg. Edge, Firefox, Chrome, and across multiple sets of hardware eg. desktop workstations, consumer PCs, high and low end laptops, mobile devices. All of the PixelStreaming settings are at their default values, but setting things like target / max / min bitrate doesn’t seem to effect this problem.
Is the PixelStreaming2 system supposed to negotiate codecs / bitrate etc? It seems like sometimes the values get fixed when the user connects and doesn’t update even with network quality changes. Sometimes when the user exits and reconnects to the same stream this fixes the issue.
