PivotPainter2 Exporter for Maya — 10 Years in the Making, Now OSS!

Hi Unreal Engine Devs,

After nearly 10 years of “PivotPainter2 = Max only,” I’ve finally developed a working PivotPainter2 exporter for Maya!
This tool generates UVs and compatible PivotPosition/XVector textures directly from Maya’s transform hierarchy — tested and working with UE5’s official PivotPainter2 materials.

  • No more need for 3ds Max or Houdini!
  • Fully procedural workflow, supports deep hierarchies
  • EXR/PNG export, high-precision
  • OSS release in preparation

I’d love feedback, testers, and feature requests.
I hope this helps more Maya artists bring animated vegetation and props to Unreal!

I’m preparing the open-source repo and will share it here soon.

Thanks!
