Pivot/Gizmo 'virtual' Movement - Editor Viewport

Is there a way to move the ‘pivot’/gizmo point inside the editor without changing the actual pivot point?

Reason asking im using the SuperGrid assets to create a BSP blockout / level concept. Therefore my ‘meshes’ are partially very big.
But alligning the verticies gets hard because of view restrictions (interior), so I need to reposition the gizmo without moving the entire pivot point because scaling is performed on both sides then.
Plan is to temporary move the gizmo but not the pivot point (not the ALT MMB version) so i can performe fine snapping without messing my entire layout.


I tried to create an example screenshot of what I try to do, hope it is readable as using mouse and keyboard.
