Pivot gizmo transform question

Hey,

I thought when you import a prop/asset it keeps the pivot orientated with that object. For some reason now when I rotate my prop the pivot is always parallel with the level. I don’t know exactly what I need to search for to fix this. So I made an image and hope to get an answer to my question here. Basically I want to have the pivot orientated to the objects the way it was imported, no matter how it’s rotated in ue4, this makes non-uniform scaling easy and moving is along it axis easy. I hope you understand what I’m getting at. (left image shows how it should be all the time, right shows my pivot after rotating the object 45°. The pivot should also be in a 45° angle no?) Thanks!

In the top right of your viewport between the transformation tools and the snapping is a little globe. If you click on that you should switch from the global pivot to the local and it should behave like you want it.

You can change the orientation of the pivot between world and local space here:

Alternatively, using alt+middle mouse button you can move/rotate the pivot manually and then right click the actor ->pivot-> set as pivot.

lol, so obvious, don’t know how I missed that… Couldn’t figure out how to search for it on google either, thanks for the help! lifesavers!
