I have a rig setup and now I makle another skeleton with one bone different. Now I can enter everything from my old rig manually on the new one because I can not copy/paste the parameters from a physics body or constraint from one asset to the other. Seriously? I can do it all again? This should be so easy, not even the complete rig just one body at a time.
I know this is a very old post, but for anyone that has this question:
It is fairly easy to do it (at least one piece at a time). open the two assets at the same time in different windows and copy/paste between them as needed.
I don’t know of a way to lift the entire setup to a new skeleton, but if I figure it out, I’ll share that as well. It would be very useful and time-saving for sure.
Yep, you can copy/paste entire selections across different assets.
open to two up, so you have both Source and Target assets open for copy/paste, then:
- Right-click (in the viewport window of the Source asset) > Select All Bodies
- Right-click > Copy All Bodies/Constraints To Clipboard
- Go to Target asset window > Select All Bodies > Paste All Bodies/Constraints
^ this gets you the bodies, now do the same process for the constraints and you’re copied over!
