Physics controller jittering at high speeds

Hey gang,
I have created a character and vehicle and I am using the new physics control component to make the character mesh react to bumps in the road. It took a while to set up, but I finally got it going using the content examples.
My problem now is that while the physics on the chaos vehicle are nice and smooth, the physics on the character mesh seem to stutter and jitter. Almost like it is lagging behind the simulation. Every couple frames the character appears very briefly behind the vehicle and snaps back in place.
Has anyone experienced this? Anyone know what would solve this?
I’ve been going through physics settings for days trying to find anything that might help improve the look of the simulation.
