Physics Constraints not working

This

does not work.

I’ve been at it for a couple hours now… nothing I do makes it happen.

anyone having a similar problem with it? I do each step and nothing happens in the Simulation nor in the World.

Hello,

I have just followed the tutorial, and was able to successfully set up the constraint. When you Simulate, are you dragging the cubes around in the level? This is the only way to get this particular constraint to show its behavior because the bottom cube will begin to swing.

If you cannot get it to work, please provide screenshots of your Physics Constraint settings so I can see if you may have missed an option.

Thank you. What sort of behavior are you seeing that leads you to believe it is not functioning properly? It looks to me like the cube on the bottom is being constrained based on the image you have provided.

nothing happens… everything is just still… somehow I am missing something very basic… but I can’t find it!

simulate does nothing, and in the game world it does nothing… it’s just frozen in time…

Have you ensured to set Cube2 to Simulate Physics? If not go ahead and do that and give it another try.

ANND there it is! THANK YOU! that was it… I knew I was missing something easy…

what a relief …!

I am glad to hear that setting simulate physics to true on Cube2 got it working for you.

Have a great day

somehow previous messages were deleted…

but that was it! checking Simulate Physics on Component 2 (Cube2) was the missing piece… thanks!
