Physics Actor with 2 parts

I have a physics actor with 2 parts basically a ball with a belt around it. I have attached the belt to the physics actor via blue print. and I can spin it on a rotation with the (add local rotation) scene component function. however… is this the proper way? should I use animations instead? ultimately I want to have the belt spin to where the mouse is pointing. and align up that way… IM" looking for some advice on which path to take or if there is another way to build the Actor other then How I did it?
