photomontage

let me ask you a question

We are looking for a way to import a photo (subject is a human) into UE and blend it seamlessly with the background set made with UE.
I want to create a picture that mixes real photos into a fantasy world, is there a better way?

I’m having trouble just converting the imported image into a material and pasting it on the board.

Hi Iokiss,

My first thought is that you’d want to have a mask for the real photo that turns everything that is not the subject/human invisible. (Similar to an alpha channel in a .png)

Try creating a black/white mask and using the opacity channel in the material.

Protip: you can use the ‘oneminus’ node in the material to invert the mask if needed.

Let us know if you’re still having trouble with this, also I’d be curious to see a screenshot of the result!

thank you for your reply!

This is how I do it now.
I want to shoot with a more natural feeling, but I don’t know how to make materials.
I’m having trouble with the way the light hits it.
Any solution?

I’m Japanese and don’t understand English, so I use a translator. I’m sorry if it’s a strange sentence.
