Yeah, 3d scanners are not really useful for game dev due to high poly messy meshes.
I wonder if they can become more useful with Nanite.
I found Artec 3d’s (the manufacturer of 3d scanners) webinar about combination of scanners and photogrammetry to achieve that what they call high accuracy model with photo-realistic textures.
Going to watch it and see if the quality would be really as good as claimed. If so, with Nanite it might be interesting.
