Photo order

Hello!

I have a simple question:

Is the photo order important?

Is version 1 better than my version 2 or does it not matter at all?

I think it matters only if you want to do a ‘video’ render straight from RC as the path of the video follows the order of the shots, otherwise I don’t think it matters. If I’m wrong on this I’d love to know, however!

Hi Antonio
Better with 1 - first from afar to capture a whole model and then go for details, not too sharp changes in distance… Around the subject and then go for details. overlap is the key to success ! :smiley:

Wishgranter, would it matter which he did if he ran the alignment a second time?

@Wishgranter

The photos in version 1 and version 2 are the same, but in different order. I have edited my screenshot and added A, B, C, D to make this more clear.

My question is: Does it matter in which order the images are stored?

Does RealityCapture compare all photos against each other EQUALLY, or does it pay attention to the order of the files?
Does it take comparision between “File0001.jpg” and “File0002.jpg” more seriously than between “File0001.jpg” and “File0999.jpg”?

I hope the question is clear now.

Hi Antonio
No, file names are not important… all images are checked with each other…

hi castlenock, good point!
however, we will have a custom path fly-through videos in the future: Custom path fly-through video
