Phantom Collision Meshes when using the Cube Grid Tool in the Modelling Panel

When using the Cube Grid Tool to do layouts, be aware of phantom Collision Meshes which may be generated by the tool.

I created a cube grid wall and then cut a whole in it for a door, also using the new modelling tools found in UE5.0+. For the life of me, I could not go through that hole, no matter what I tried, from re-sizing the door, to re-doing the hole, nothing would work.

Then I saw a two year old thread in these forums with a similar problem, and turned on the Collision show tab in the Editor (ALT-C) and Boom! There they were, not one, but TWO extra Collision fields!

I promptly deleted them and all was right with the world, and everything worked as it should and I was able to walk through the hole (door) that I had cut in the Cube Grid.

Anyhow, hope that helps with anyone having the same (weird, baffling) problem…

Best,

Scott

Thanks. Also in the Static Mesh editor, instead of deleting and redoing the collisions, I set the Collision Complexity in the Details pane to “Use Complex Collision As Simple” and now after further Cube Grid edits it seems to automatically calculate the new collisions
