I have this pipe type mesh that I want to be black color, and then from one end it starts to glow, and that glow continues along the pipe until it reaches the, thus the pipe stays glowing.
I used the Panner node, with a black to white image and I got it in a way, but the problem is that because of the Panner, the color is looping.
So the question, how do I make the ‘Repunzel’ effect on the pipe?
I have attached the image of what I have and really don’t know how to proceed from here. I tried many other ones (that’s where that clamp comes from on the image), but I can’t get it to work.
UVs are good, I took the screenshot to show how the color repeats again, so that image is just to demonstrate that it keeps repeating from start in a loop, while the glow is going to the right side. It’s not starting from mid of mesh.
But what I want is, the pipe is black, then starts glowing from left and the glow spreads to the right till the end and stays that way.
Now, the glow starts at the beginning goes to end and then, the black starts again and it goes in a loop.
By ‘Repunzel’ effect I meant, like the 3D animation of that girl that her hair glows from her head and goes to end and stays glowing. Didn’t know how to express my self so I used that :). Sorry for the confusion.
I got it eventually. 24 hrs without getting out of chair trying to understand, and figure out and finally I got it the way I want it. For anyone out there who might need it, the screenshot.
It could be some nodes to be redundant or something, or whoever is pro, might know better way, but this is the noob way I got
