Performance differences between 4.27.1 and 5.0.0 EA2 discussion

I ran a simple test with two completely empty projects in 4.27.1 and 5.0.0 EA2, with nothing but a totally blank level and the FPS stat console command from Begin Play in the Level Blueprint and the difference is quite a bit.
4.27.1 = avg. 50 FPS
5.0.0 EA2 = avg. 60 FPS

My system:
MacBook Pro 2019 - macOS Big Sur - Version 11.5.2
2,4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 - 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 - Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 MB

What have you tested and how did it go?

EDIT: These were packaged builds, running as a “game.”

After tweaking some settings in a completely empty 5.0 project, the avg. FPS is now around 345, after restarting the computer. This is a packaged build to avoid having the editor eat up performance.

The progress is now almost 6 times faster frame rate.

The experiment continues.
