Perforce exclusive checkout

Hello everybody,

I have succesfully setup a perforce server and it works like charm so far. Very satisfied with the In-Engine controls. There is however something that bothers me.

When someone checks-in new files only the uploader is able to edit them. I suppose this has something to do with some exclusive checkout functionalties that I can´t wrap my head around. I noticed that in P4V you can edit filetypes and detick “exclusive checkout” but this does not solve the problem. Did I miss something?

I’m going through the same problem. The original person that checked-in the files needs to go to it inside Perforce, right click it and go to “Change Filetype” to remove this lock.
