Per Limb Trajectory MotionMatching

This is more so a placeholder for a future discussion on Per Limb MotionMatching. I have cauldron of ideas swirling around in my head post release o the Game Animation Sample Project (GASP).

I’m actually still trying to grasp my head around how Motion Matching works. I’m fascinated by all forms animation especially procedural and ai-driven methods. I’ve been looking at the concept of motion matching over at ubisoft for a year.

My current understanding is trajectory & velocity is used to search a database of pre-motion captured poses that match up the closest to motion in progress. This all appears to be drive the lower body. What about the upper body, other limbs, multiple legs, etc?
