Pc build for game dev.......HELP NEEDED

Hi guys, I’d really like to know your thoughts about a pc I’m building to start developing on UE4 (keep in mind that I’m on a budget!), these are the main specs:
AMD fx8350
16gb ddr3 (eventually I could add 16 more gb)
250gb ssd
gtx960
I’d need to know how cpu and ddr would perform in your opinion and if you guys think that the gpu will be good for it.
My goal would be to develop open world games with good graphics, on the other hand I’d like to create games that average users with average specs can actually run on their PCs.
I’d really like to have your opinion and suggestions, considering that I’m pretty new at this, your advice will be very useful.
Thank you guys!
(sorry if my english sucks!)

That’s fine, though a 256GB SSD will fill up quick. Unreal Engine especially uses a lot of space, if you have content packs downloaded and multiple versions.

I wouldn’t make any plans for developing open-world games on that GPU, my old rig was:

AMD 7850K-Quad Core CPU
16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
GTX 960 2GB SuperClocked ACX 2.0 GPU

And I was able to develop games just fine, but nothing too big, as my FPS would **** out, I certainly couldn’t load the Kite Demo :frowning:

My new rig is:

Intel i7 4790K-Quad Core CPU
24GB DDR3 1866 RAM
GTX 980 Ti 6GB GP
U

And I could be developing GTAV for all it cares.

Your CPU should do alright, and your RAM as well (though 24GB wouldn’t hurt :D), but I’d shoot for a GTX 970 or higher where GPUs are concerned. I’m not saying that you can’t work on open-world games with that rig you listed, but you’d be happier with a better GPU.

Considering how many people fail to get all that far when they say they want to make an open world game, I wouldn’t worry about meeting hardware requirements for that purpose

Thank you guys, I’ll definitely consider getting a bigger ssd and a higher gpu
