Payment retention while seller account is suspended should be illegal because this is not Epic’s money anymore, it belongs to sellers and its retained for too long to begin with even in normal conditions (30 days at least), so it’s an abuse to hold money that sellers already won even beyond the meet of the required threshold amount as part of a technical (supposed) infringement.
I’ve tried to meet an agreement by good means throught the forums, throught emailing support and even throught trying to appeal to (unfair) sanctions that were applied due to FAB-side technical errors, but I have got nothing more than being ignored by support team so I’m guessing I’m going to have to take another level measures.
Seriously considering taking legal actions by now as I’m beyond p1ss3d off by all FAB and Epic Games disrispectfulness and lack of commitment towards it’s sellers.
This is such nonsense on the part of FAB and Epic Games. It feels like they’re doing everything possible to push sellers off the platform. Today I found out I was blocked, and at first I thought it was because of the adult-content product I published a week ago. I searched online for people with a similar problem, and it turns out it’s because I didn’t update my information on Hyperwallet (although I’m still not sure, because apparently stating the reason directly is too difficult).
Here’s how it went: on November 28, I received two emails. The first said that a payout would be issued to me. The second said this:
“Dear ****,
You have been credited with a payment of **** USD from Epic Games. Please note that your payment is on hold until your default account information has been verified by our team.
If you haven’t already done so, please log in to your Pay Portal and click Verify next to your default account under the Transfer tab. Then follow our simple steps to provide the necessary information. Once your information has been reviewed, the funds will be loaded into this account.”
Okay, maybe I didn’t pay enough attention to it, but seriously, is this really such a critical issue that they have to wipe the entire account with all products? Ideally, this information should have been stated clearly and in bold red text. They blocked me on the exact day a discount started on my main product. FAB is the least seller-friendly platform out there.
I completely agree with you — this is basically stealing money from sellers because of ridiculous decisions like “blocking the entire seller profile with all items” over non-critical issues.
I miss what Sketchfab used to be because it was the complete oposite to what FAB is nowadays. In my case i received around 54 (FIFTY-FOUR!!!) sanctions due to a “file type that is unsupported”, the file type in question: a ZIP file!, the issue: apparently FAB can´t recognize a zip file to be a zip file when it´s compressed with the windows built-in zip tool, so you need a hird party software like 7z so the FAB system be able to recognize as zip… otherwise you get red flagged by the system and get a fancy sanction each time you try to get your stuff uploaded. The most absurd thing about everything is this affected previously APPROVED and LISTED moldels and was an error well known admited by FAB from lexactly one year ago but they never took the sactions away, but past month i got my account suspended thanks to the insane amount of sanctions i received
