We present to you a complete Cubemap Generator. This asset creates a volumetric space in real time using just six standard textures. Thanks to variations of the master materials, you can generate anything from simple cubemaps to fully furnished rooms or fireplaces with animated flames.
This asset is a real gem for anyone looking to reduce system load by replacing parts of the game environment with visual imitations.
With these materials, you can easily fake:
Apartments, outdoor views through windows, alleyways, anything behind fences or barriers. Any recesses or cutouts—even those that are supposed to be lit. Wall breaches, dungeon chambers, rooms behind glass, and much more. Perfect wherever you need to create the illusion of space without making it accessible to the player.
Using a dedicated master material, you can also build your own sky sphere or cosmic environment—just add the textures you want. There's no need to create a massive location or go through the complex process of generating a cubemap. The material handles everything for you.
All you need to do is apply your textures and choose where each one should appear.
Additionally, with the master material for ground holes, we’ve included a lava setup (as a bonus in the asset), but you can replace it with anything—sewage tunnels, ventilation shafts, or hidden communication channels behind grates.
To simulate windows with outdoor views, we’ve added special weather effects like rain and fog. These can be easily applied to any surface and work as standard materials.
Unlike traditional cubemaps, these materials allow you to place objects inside the generated space—furniture, fireplace hearths, or anything else you want. You can animate each face of the cube or rotate it at any desired angle. Most importantly, these materials support normal maps, which make the space significantly more realistic compared to simple cubemaps that don't offer such capabilities.
