PathTracing not working with the new preview release 2023 (Twinmotion 2023.1.0 (23470244))?

It'd be good to have the rollback option for the 2023.1 preview 1. I have a project saved in 2023.1 preview 1 that was working perfectly with the path tracer, unfortunately after the preview 2 I was not able to use path tracer anymore so I had to reinstall the 2022 version. And guess what.. I'm not able to open that project anymore!

Please developers, can you help us? As far as I can see with a patch you could potentially open to gtx and pascal video card architecture. It's a shame to lose all these clients just for an effortless patch. Or you can simply give the opportunity to reinstall the preview 1.

PLEASE!

Thank you

PathTracer stopped working for me after upgrading to Preview2

hope they just officially patch it so it wouldnt be hard for people who dunno how to edit codes and such.I openned a similar ticket and they just said if u dont have RTX card path tracer will not work anymore.

They have said

"Due to instability issues with Nvidia's GTX series cards with DirectX Raytracing (DXR), official support for this feature was removed from Unreal Engine 5.0.3. Since Twinmotion 2023.1 Preview 1 now runs on this version of Unreal Engine, Path Tracer can no longer be supported on GTX series cards."

I can't imagine them bringing it back now. It's shocking because it was fine on my 1080Ti and now I can't use it. Please

I have the same problem with a Quadro P4000... with the "previous" Preview the PT worked perfectly.

The patch doesn't work with the latest release. Please update the patch or release a new version. Thx

I've just had to invest in a RTX 4090 because of this! I hope it flippin' works!

I got a reply from Epic:

We have found that updating the OS fixes the issue.

Operating System: Windows 10 or 11, 64 bit

  • Windows 10 64-bit version 1909 revision .1350 or higher, or versions 2004 and 20H2 revision .789 or higher.
  • Please refer to this page to check your Windows operating system version.

When I tried to update I got an error.

But got a work arround for installing:

I hope this resolve the problems for you as well.

Having same issue with unable to enable path tracer in version 2023.1 EDU despite setting saying DirectX 12 is active. Using Windows 10 Pro and GeForce 1080Ti. I've not seen the EDU version referenced in previous comments.... Any help would be appreciated.

Path Tracer work in 2022.3

but not work in 2023.1

on the same computer

Hello , ,

Thank you for posting in the community and unfortunately GPU card requirements for Path Tracer with Twinmotion 2023.1 are different.

Here are the series supported.

  • NVIDIA graphics card: RTX 2000 series or higher
  • AMD graphics card: RX 6000 series or higher

Kind regards,

Vincent B.

Hello,

Is there something new about pathtracer for 2023 version? Maybe I ve missed some informations.

Because, as lots of people, I ve Nvidia GTX... And as lots of people, need pathtracer, but not by buying a new graphic card ! XD That's really ennoying

I read that the Epic game developers could work on it. Some improvement soon?

Thanks for your reply.

Lise C

, or tell us how to do it.

We can't afford a RTX card please!!

😥

I dont understand why Epic would make this change and not be explicit about the change in card requirements. So many of us have older cards that are very adequate for other CAD needs, and now I have to invest in a new card?!

C'mon Epic. Your working with content creators not hedge funds.

some hope of having it updated for new version? please

Hi I am getting this warning

which kind of ?

on the left I enabled path tracing on the right usual warning.

you can try my patch, download it from give link

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6cb58ucnasr94s9/Twinmotion-Win64-Shipping_v1.exe?dl=0

and copy it here:-

C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Twinmotion2023.1\Twinmotion\Binaries\Win64

if you want to use it with epic launcher rename it from Twinmotion-Win64-Shipping_v1.exe to Twinmotion-Win64-Shipping.exe

and overwrite

before that make sure you copy the original executable ( Twinmotion-Win64-Shipping.exe) in a safe place.

Thanks this image did not attach before dont know why
