Particle activation in sequencer UE 4.27

So im trying to animate a sequence with small explosions and have them tracked to activate/deactivate when i want, but no matter what when i render the video they all go off immediately even though theyre deactivated at the start. Any suggestions?

Take a look at the Auto Activate property on the particle component and try toggling it off if it’s on.

Ive tried toggling it on and off and neither changes it
