Sparrow has a skin called “tough” in the assets, but it doesn’t come with a skeleton. Well, it does, but that skeleton has only two bones. Thus, as far as I can tell the skin cannot be used with any animations at all. So I guess the question is, do I have to build a skeleton from scratch? I have to hope there is some way to mate it with the standard Sparrow skeleton.
Hey there @Sins_of_Man1! Welcome to the community! Some of the Paragon skins skeletons seem to lack the bones of the original skeleton. You may be able to merge them and retarget like this post mentions:
Thank you. I fear it is not just a matter of retargeting, seeing as the skin I want to use doesn’t have a skeleton at all. I have found this post with a similar problem to mine: How to transfer bones from one skeleton to another? - #3 by omarmasoud
So it seems like I’m going to have to learn blender.
If needed, you could export the original skeleton and mesh to blender, transfer the weights, then clean anything else up in the weight paint if there is anomalies.
This is a bit more work for sure, but the plus side is that you can add whatever custom mesh rigging you would want in this phase.
