Hi guys, I imported a Paragon model yesterday, Crunch character, but the material stays grey, no textures are assigned. I imported by adding him to a default FPS Blueprint project.
I can see that the textures are imported, I also get a preview of the textures for the meshes in the content browser, but when I drag a mesh into the scene, it is just grey. Also the material in the material editor has no textures assigned.
its just one possibility not a definite. usually there is a message somewhere on screen telling you if its compiling. or you could check task manager in windows and see if theres a process taking most of your cpu power.
when you say you had a preview for the meshes in the content browser did you mean the textures show on the skeletal mesh or just show as a texture file? if its just showing as a texture file then your materials are broken and you will have to go into each one and assign the textures if they are missing. that kinda sounds like your issue since the materials arent previewing either
Hi friend, have you solved this problem? If not, you can have a look at here, I the paragon of material can be normal compilation, I deleted all the content of the Visual Studio on my computer (actually delete a incompatible components is ok, because I don’t know where to delete all deleted) and the version 4.19 upgrade, then you can compile the normal, you can have a look at this thread Believe it will be useful to you.How to fix ShaderCompiler not working in 4.19? - Rendering - Epic Developer Community Forums
Same. The materials worked some days ago but now they are rendered with default grey material.
What’s strange is that they render normaly if I switch the “material quality level” setting from high to low and are grey again if I switch back from low to high. (every other materials of my project works in low or high quality level)
And the material preview is ok only when I uncheck “used with skeletal mesh” setting in the material, but of course you can’t use it on skeletal mesh if not cheched
