Paradox Engine

Not sure if anyone else has seen it, but it’s an up and coming engine based on C# and looks very promising… Made by Silicon studios (Yebis, Mizuchi).

Now it’s at the point where it’s graphically gorgeous, open source, C# based and has a lot going for it in general. I don’t think it’s quite ready for taking on commercial products. But it’s exciting never the less:

Le’me check. A Japanese engine ? Hm hm

Yup :D, these guys did the rendering / post for Final Fantasy 15 amongst other things, so if nothing else it’ll be pretty.

I really hope something comes out of it, you can never have enough options.!

Tried it.

It can be a really nice alternative to Unity, and in skilled handsi even to UE4 with a lot of room to potential expansion. The engine is really new but it really manages some nice things. For example it can get the whole engine plus two game templates in just 450 MBs, a capability I simply love to have. It also have a nice launcher and seamless Visual Studio integration.

I’ll keep this engine installed on my system (just 450 MB remember ? ) and check it every now and then.

Awesome, yeah it’s pretty lightweight…

PS4 is on it’s roadmap too, plus a few other things… As said excited to see where it goes, I bet it’ll definitely be a no brainer alternative when it gets traction.

Silicon Studio know their graphics tech and rendering so this is definitely gonna be interesting. Open source, so it’ll be even more interesting!

Tried out its samples. You can see it has a long way to go but intention is there. Can’t beat a little C# integration too. I wonder how it would perform on a larger scale.
