Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles. There sometimes are UV mapping issues and you can sometimes fix those by reapplying the UV. First select the material having an issue with the material picker, then change the UV to the closest shape being applied to (Cube in your case), then re-apply/drag the material on the geometry in the viewport.
