When defining control points in 2D view, it is not possible to pan since lmb is now used for selecting the points.
How about pan is rmb instead since now it is zoom which is much easier via wheel?
Because right now I have to use zoom to get from one part of an image to another one and that gets tiring after a while…
I know that you guys have a different workflow with the zooming funktion (which is also quite nice) but it only works if you already know where to put the control point. In my case I have to rely on small spots (dove poop for example ) which are not visible when zoomed out.
Oh, and while we are at it:
How about hiding the control point while repositioning (for better accuracy) it by draging?
Otherwise I have to put it somewhere else first to be able to see properly…
Hi Götz
what about better workflow ? place the CP roughly and then click and hold LMB pressed so get in zoom to place preciously ?
Hi Wishgranter,
as I tried to say, workflow flows differently for every worker…
And we could probably debate all day about what is “better”.
Again, with the features you use in your example, it makes sence like this.
But in my case I have to search for distinct tiny spots all over the place - pan is just what you need for that.
I found the same in photoscan with masking and it frustrates me quite a bit.
Since zoom is doubled, why not use one for pan?
I LIKE TO PAAAAAAAN!
Götz its about experience
From the beginning was a bit “unconformable” but get to like it after few days…
Look on my video how im work with the CP/GCPs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8naLEtLqDY
Wishgranter, I watched the video ages ago!
I looked at it again though.
And I maintain my point: you have an ideal case with easily recognizable features.
I appreciate your tips and I am certain that I will improve my workflow giving time.
But sometimes it’s just the little things like that.
And why not make it a bit easier for new users.
Therefore…
Official request: Pan in 2D while control-pointing!
Talk to you soon.
Hi Götz
Select Point, say P1,
look on image = you need pan the image…
hit F3 and pan image to the proper place
the already selected P1 point need to be “activated” to be placed
hit F3 and place the P1 point…
the F3 key is a CONTOL POINT tool ( ALIGNMENT/CONTROl POINT )
try it…
Hey Wishgranter,
thanks for your perseverance, it’s appreciated!
I think I am beginning to understand what you are getting at.
Keep one finger hovering over F3 and then get cracking…
That could work - although I would still need to activate the CP I want every time.
The lock (meaning pressing a CP in the list toggles its status) as I suggested is still worth a thought though?
Because it would mean less clicks for a certain workflow (mine) and not interfere with yours, because you still activate them as needed. And creating an unwanted new one would be less likely…
Now I would close the topic if I could, becaus we definitely spent enough time here! lol
Hi Götz
Try it out on the data you have and let me know after few days ( experimentation on real stuff ) what you think…
I will!
And after the new revelation with the preselector and a ridiculously low alignment time of 10 minutes for a set of 400 images (can that be true?), I am willing to put up with almost any “inconvenience”!
