PAKing Maps (world partition) for post release distribution, compression amount

Hi,

I’ve been doing some experiments creating PAKs of world partition maps, it’s not necessary to have usable PAK files yet for me, but just to what degree unreal compresses the files.

I’ve done a test by running Unreal-Pak on the external actors folders of the relevant levels and get a compression ratio of about 10-20% of the original file size.

I’m wondering if this compression ratio is accurate and if this would change if you pak files with chunking during building, for shipping or development etc.

Can anyone offer some insight on this?
