Ive been pondering about painting my textures by hand and brush. Then scanning them, I love painting miniatures and it would be a fun way to marry the two hobbies i think.
Print the UV-wrap and paint it.
Has anyone tried?
Another thing you could look at is f.e. Corel Painter 2015.
There is no reason why it wouldnt work if it fits the style of your game. Also check out Verve Painter here: Taronites • View forum - Downloads & Info an amazing painting tool with fluid dynamics and it’s free.
The only problem you could get is texture stretching if you don’t check your UV mapping properly with a checker pattern in 3DS Max etc. before printing it.
In other words you have to be really carefull with your UVs, just like if you painted the Texture in PS, instead of on the model.
