Paint Vertex Mode remains after restart

Yesterday I was playing with the paint vertex mode for the first time. I exited UE while in vertex edit mode. Today after starting UE, the whole scene was white, but the Paint Vertex tab was not active, the regular “Place” mode was active. I had to click on Paint mode and then back to place mode to get the regular view back

I’m unable to reproduce this issue on my side. Here are the steps I took:

  1. Create a blank project
  2. Create a material with vertex color plugged in base color
  3. Drag in static mesh asset with vertex color material applied
  4. Vertex paint on it
  5. Save and close editor with map set ot open by default
  6. Reopen project

Are you able to reproduce this issue consistently in a clean/default project? If so could you provide a specific list of steps you took to reproduce the issue?
