Paint stones without messing the performance

I have a valley map where I want to paint thousands of stones. I want the stones to have a very good quality (nanite if possible), but also keep a minimally decent frame rate to walk around.

How should I approach that?

Hey there @unreal_pakoco! Welcome to the community! So when you import your rock meshes (or any you want to be nanite) you need to open the meshes details:

then just create the foliage static mesh and assign your rock, then paint away!

Nanite docs:

Foliage mode:

Thanks! Then I understand that the amount of stones I put in my scene will not have an extreme impact on the performance as long as I use the nanite option true?

Yep, Nanite does give a massive boost to the performance of large amounts of meshes. I’d recommend stress testing early to see what your system can handle. There are still limitations, but they are much higher.
