We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unreal Engine developer to join our team and work on an exciting multiplayer game project featuring intense melee combat with animal/quadrupedal characters.

Responsibilities:
- Enhance and refine the existing character rigs, ensuring smooth and realistic animations for various animal/quadrupedal characters during combat scenarios, including attacks (head bite, leg bite), movement (walking, running), and other actions.
- DO NOT REPLY IF NOT FAMILIAR WITH WORKING WITH ANIMAL/QUADRUPEDAL CHARACTERS
- Implement advanced character rig setups and animation systems to support multiplayer synchronization, ensuring character animations are accurately replicated across multiple clients in real-time.
- Collaborate with the design team to create engaging cinematic sequences, scripting and directing non-interactive dramatic moments that enhance the game’s narrative and immersion.
- Optimize and improve the existing melee combat system, ensuring responsive and satisfying close-quarters fighting mechanics for players.
- Develop and integrate robust multiplayer functionality, utilizing the Steam subsystem for networking, matchmaking, and related features.
- Utilize Blueprints and other scripting tools within Unreal Engine to implement gameplay systems, AI behaviors, and other game logic as required.
- Implement a wager system that allows players to place bets on the outcome of matches.
- Collaborate full-time with another Unreal Engine developer.
- Attend meetings with project managers and production team.
- Debug, optimize, and maintain software stability.
- Create monthly builds for quality assurance.
- Identify and propose technical solutions for PC game features.
- Develop necessary tools and workflows for implementing new game features.
- Test, debug, profile, and optimize implementations.
- Contribute to and support the technical roadmap for upcoming titles.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in developing games or complex real-time applications using Unreal Engine.
- Extensive knowledge of character rigging and animation pipelines, particularly for animal/quadrupedal characters.
- Expertise in creating cinematic sequences and scripted events within game engines.
- Strong understanding of multiplayer networking concepts and techniques for real-time synchronization of game state and character animations.
- Proficiency in creating melee combat systems, including hit detection, animation blending, and responsive feedback.
- Familiarity with the Steam platform and its multiplayer networking features (e.g., Steam Networking, Steamworks API).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to optimize and improve existing systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
- Passion for playing and creating video games with strong self-motivation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Unreal Engine, with deep understanding of UE4.
- Background in engineering or equivalent training or relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of game development experience for PC.
- Strong knowledge of C++.
- Proficient written and verbal English skills.
