Unreal developer for art studio in Madrid, Spain @ Studio Daniel Canogar
Studio Daniel Canogar, based in Los Angeles and Madrid, is formed by 11 highly motivated and creative individuals with over a decade of experience building large-scale public art commissions. Art and science intersect in the studio by combining artists, art historians, and architects with engineers and programmers. As lead artist for the studio, Canogar takes pride in having built a professional team through the years.
We are looking to add a new element to our team in Madrid. Since we are an art studio, and not a game or UX studio, you should have some background or interest in any form of artistic expression, beyond games or communication design.
You’ll work directly with Daniel, and create artworks that explore and mix different fields, mediums and means of expression, and connect procedural animations with live-data from different sources world-wide.
Responsibilities & Availability
- Develop animations and custom shaders
- Connect Unreal with different streams of live data (text, images, videos)
- Develop clean and efficient tools
- Evaluate and expand upon existing tools, frameworks, etc., used in the studio
- Write high level user documentation
- Availability to do physical work (help with installing artworks)
- Living in Spain, available to move to Madrid
- Availability to travel outside Spain
- Open for part or full time
Requirements & Skills
- Strong knowledge in C++
- Experience with shading languages
- Strong math skills with an emphasis in 3D and linear algebra
- Experience working with, and manipulating, images and video
- Fluent in Spanish and English
As a plus
- Knowledge in Python/JavaScript
- Experience in openFrameworks
- Experience delivering long term, 24/7 running, software
- Experience with audio and/or 3D assets
- Experience with hardware (mainly input, like sensors, cameras, etc.)
- Experience with prototyping (like 3d printing, CNC, etc.)
- Experience with Adobe Suite
