Responsibilities
We are developing an open-world emergency services sandbox game and are looking for a skilled Technical Animator to build a high-quality, scalable locomotion system.

Design and implement a full-body locomotion system and test the viability of Motion Matching

Integrate and refine existing or new animation assets into a cohesive system

Create transition animations and blend poses to ensure smooth, realistic movement
-
Implement large variety of movement features.
-
Ensure animations adapt to different character weights and physicality
-
Work with Animation Blueprints, State Machines, and Motion Matching setups
-
Collaborate closely with gameplay systems to ensure responsiveness and realism
-
Optimize animation systems for performance and scalability in an open-world environment with complex AI and multiplayer.
Qualifications

Mid-level or Senior experience as a Technical Animator in Unreal Engine 5

Strong experience with:
-
Animation Blueprints
-
Motion Matching (highly preferred)

Locomotion systems
-

Experience with retargeting skeletons and animation assets

Solid understanding of:
-
Control Rig
- IK systems (FABRIK, CCDIK, Full Body IK, etc.)

Experience with at least one 3D package:
- Maya, Blender, or similar

Knowledge of procedural animation techniques
-
Understanding of networked animation systems (multiplayer considerations)

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Good communication and ability to iterate quickly
