Hi everyone,
I’ve been developing a fantasy-style MMO game part-time for the last 3 years, and I’m aiming to release a playable MVP by the end of this year. To help get there, I’m looking to bring on 1 to 3 remote Unreal Engine developers, ideally part-time to start, with potential to increase hours depending on fit and progress.
About the Project
- Genre: Fantasy MMO
- Client: Unreal Engine
- Server: Custom-built backend in Java (Micronaut)
- Networking: Not using UE’s native replication — instead, leveraging a custom networked system
I keep a bit of a devlog with development progress, which can help give an idea of the project and its status
last entry: UE5: How to toggle target by using tab key by distance
What I’m Looking For
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Part-time availability with potential to move to full-time
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Interest in MMO-style gameplay and systems
Nice-to-Have Skills
- C++ experience in UE (Note that project is currently mostly in Blueprints)
- Java knowledge (not essential but useful)
- Experience with or interest in:
- UI/UX design
- VFX
- Map/environment design
- Materials/shaders
What I Bring to the Table
- Strong in Blueprints, networking, game logic, widget creation, actor components
- I’m happy to help onboard and guide through the project — junior to mid-level devs are welcome if you’re passionate and committed
- Friendly and collaborative dev environment
This is a remote contract role (fully remote).
If you’re interested, please email me at ylazarev92@gmail.com with:
- A short intro and your experience
- Portfolio (if available)
- Your expected daily/monthly rate
- Your availability (hours per week)
Thanks, and looking forward to hearing from you!
