[Paid] Looking for Technical Environmental Artist

Description

Seeking a technically oriented environment artist to optimize and beautify existing game areas in the demo for our sandbox survival project.

Responsibilities

  • Review and replace assets to achieve a coherent, ultra-high-fidelity look and feel
  • Iterate on proc-gen to produce dense, beautiful, but playable game spaces
  • Author and revise high fidelity nature assets for quality and consistent look
  • Optimize assets to improve their appearance and reduce performance impact
  • Adjust lighting, atmosphere, and other global effects to maximize visual impact

Qualifications

  • Experience working professionally with Unreal as an artist and level builder
  • Demonstrated expertise authoring a wide range of natural environment assets
  • An eye for both aesthetics and quality enabling you to deliver beautiful results
  • Familiarity with UE5 sufficient to optimize for its strengths and limitations
  • Experience with UE’s procedural generation features a plus but not required

Other Information

Time commitment is flexible, with an estimate of one to two months work in total. The position is fully remote, but we want to collaborate actively and treat you as a member of the team, so some overlap with European time zones would be ideal.

We’re happy to work with either a dedicated freelancer or someone interested in a permanent position in the future, but this will be a contract position until we raise our first round of funding.
